George Fitzgerald’s label, ManMakeMusic is back with ASA 808 hot on the tail of last month’s FOLD EP. The title track is a house arrangement that wobbles along through some filtered bass, which will be very effective on the dance floor. The Berlin-based producer shows an affinity with his home town as he wallows in the tech-aesthetics that are very much still en-vogue on the moment. There’s a forbidding air to the record as it delves into sonically dark territory. On Attachment the dissonant screaming vocal drives this point home, but it’s also in the metallic timbres and the restrained percussion. The last thing that this debut from ASA 808 relays is ignorance.
