Patricia (Max Ravitz) and Jahiliyya Fields (Matthew Morandi) have teamed again as Inhalants for an LP on L.I.E.S. It follows their 2014 12″ on the same label, and is the first new work from Jahiliyya Fields since the critically acclaimed Chance Life LP from last year – also on L.I.E.S. The label have shared a cut from the upcoming Deep Florida LP called Humid Widow and from that we can hear Inhalants are building on the disenfranchised Techno sound from their debut. Humid Widow gestates from squelching resonating filters and cloudy syncopated sequences, eventually dragging a percussive rhythm out from the oozing miasma, while noise, drones and all manner of ambient elements scratch and claw at the functionality of the beat. It’s something of a roller-coaster ride that just keeps climbing to an uncompleted edge. You can stream Humid Widow below and Deep Florida is due for release in March, alongside another eagerly awated release by Gunnar Haslam.
