Seb Wildblood and Apes, co-founders of the highly successful London-based night and label, Church premiered two new tracks last night via XLR8r. The pair have temporarily migrated over to Skint for a 12″ split release out at the end of May. Noshi and Mortimer Road, see the producers further explore their individual sounds, largely carved out from a foundation of House . Wildblood brings a sensuality to the season with Noshi, a downtempo track swathed in waves of pads as a soft-spoken siren’s vivid vocal draws the listener further in to the song. Kelly Owens‘ vocal to be precise. Apes introduces more of a dance element on the flip with Mortimer Road, as a soul-diva vocal sample sits over a house beat and a bouncy bass line. It’s not a complete contrast to Wildblood‘s laid-back affair, as the track trails all manner of synthesised debris behind it in an apathetic nuance, making the two tracks quite compatible, albeit different . In both tracks on this outing we find the Church bosses adapting their sound to fit the release, setting a very distinct mood with Noshi and Mortimer Road.
