Stream a Mix by rising Berlin star Perel for Badabing

Before she makes her way over to Oslo and Dattera till Hagen for Badabing on Friday Perel (Annegret Fiedler) sent over a taste of her musical prowess in the form of an exclusive mix for the event. The artist who last year released her first single Body Talk via O*RS has already been earmarked of many of her peers, not only for her work in the studio in that catchy jacking house track, but as formidable personality in the booth. A few remixes and a steady flow of mixes brought the artist to attention of Resident Advisor and DJs like Vinny Villbass, who has praised the artist and DJ as “one to watch”.  Growing up in a small town in Germany, Annegret composed her first songs at the age of eight she chiefly sees her personality “as a musician who loves to express herself in many ways, including producing, singing or djing.” Always carrying the sounds of her youth and the nineties with her wherever she goes, it  “Producing a track like ‘Body Talk’ had always  been a dream for me as I am 90s kid – my whole musical socialisation took place in that decade.” When she took the moniker Perel (Afrikaans for pearl), she focussed this love for “Old School House and Hip Hop” into music influenced by the lkes of “Tyree Cooper, Beatmasters, Fast Eddie.” Perel is an eclectic musical personality if nothing else and it comes across in mixes where she favours an open dialogue with her audience with only one goal in mind: “Follow the vibe!”

“I play House and Techno music but I love to mash it with Disco, Funk, New Beat or what else…
You can tell whole stories with your sets as long as you follow a “red trail“ and prove yourself sensitive to the people and clubs you play for.  “
It’s something that really comes across in the mix she has made exclusively for badabing, which she says was “handmade and full of love” and gives us a peak at this latent talent emerging out of Berlin (where she now resides). It also includes two unreleased tracks by the Perel, who has just signed to Don’t Sleep records for her next release “Charles Manson” and while she still loves “those old school vibes” of Body Talk, she is not content in repeating herself and these releases also show an artist continuously evolving. “Body Talk was an one-off” for the artist claiming her next “releases will be different.” While we wait patiently for those to start coming through, which is set it include “a great Acid House remix by Darius Syrossian”, wlets immerse ourselves in this mix by the artist and make sure to catch a glimpse of this rising talent at Dattera till Hagen on the 27th of Novemeber.”
