After a brief stint on Blueprint under his eponymous alias, Oliver Ho returns to his Broken English Club title with a video for Myths of Steel and Concrete, taken from the inauguratory 12″ from his Death and Leisure label. As the the title suggests, and as Broken English Club moniker can attest to, Myths of Steel and Concrete is no subtle affair, and takes Ho’s music further into the industrial realm than ever before. The video emphasises this fact with a disjointed mobile collage that features anatomically personal close-ups mirrored by shards of discarded film and visualised white noise, while the music pounds scratches and seethes at the edges of Techno and EBM. It’s the title track from the forth coming EP from Broken English Club, that will feature alongside another EP from Zov Zov, a new beat-less project from Ho. Look out for a Q&A with Oliver Ho coming to The Formant soon.
